Wow, we here in American cannot understand that kind of love. To love your enemies and not curse them even when they burn you alive. The executions go on and on of our brothers and sisters in Christ., simply because they are Christians, they are killed in the most horrendous ways.
What is to love about this? This is a question I just recently started asking my Father in heaven as I stand in front of individuals as they speak and what they say is sad, evil, or hurtful. Where does this consuming hate stem from? How can a human being be so evil and take the life of the innocent?
We cannot see the root of things. The roots can grow very deep as it searches for nourishment to help continue its growth. The root of evil searches the person to find where it can entangle and choke them.
In their desperate attempt to live they are overtaken by the evil one himself, Satan.
It is hard to love the unlovable. It is hard to look at hate and show love. We cry out for justice! How do we show love to our enemies?
We pray for truth to come forth!
John 18:37 Pilate therefore said to Him, “Are You a king then?” Jesus answered, “You say rightly that I am a king. For this cause I was born, and for this cause I have come into the world, that I should bear witness to the truth. Everyone who is of the truth hears My voice.”
I can remember going into the prisons to minister. The ladies would always ask us to pray for their release as their court dates came near. They would tell us they were innocent. All of them! I watched as our leader would handle this situation. She said, "OK, let's pray for truth to come forward." She then could pray fervently for them and for truth to come forth at their trials.
That wisdom has stayed with me throughout all these years. Truth sets us free. Not our version of truth, but TRUTH. Truth is truth whether we know it or not. It does not change with our knowledge.
As Nahum wrote in chapter 3 verse 5:
“Behold, I am against you,” says the Lord of hosts;
“I will lift your skirts over your face,
I will show the nations your nakedness,
And the kingdoms your shame."
This was spoken to Nineveh 100 years after they had repented from the message given to them by Jonah.
I pray for the skirts to be lifted and the nakedness and shame to be revealed in corrupt governments, and false religions, so eyes will be open to the truth. Truth sets us free, but oh, brothers and sisters, can it ever be painful.
Let's pray everyday for truth to come forth in this nation and the nations of this world.
