A word from the Lord: I am the great and mighty God of love but also of judgment. My people have sinned against Me and My covenant with them. They have forgotten their true and awesome God and replaced Me with a god that they think they can manipulate and move around to their liking. I am immovable and I am all mighty and all knowing and all powerful. I will not tolerate much longer this disdain for Me and My ways, and My word. There is no compromise with God; there is no changing of mind; there is no wavering in My Word. I am God everlasting to everlasting; mighty in Spirit and in truth. My truth is the only truth, not made up man’s theories of truth. I will spew them out of My mouth.
My thoughts: Covenant is a binding agreement between at least two people, nations, countries etc. We see in scripture David and Jonathan made a covenant to each other. They exchanged robes, weapons and belts in I Samuel 18:3, 4.This was representative of them becoming one. My enemies are now your enemies, my strength is your strength and what I own you own. Each one would agree to this. This covenant was even continued on by David to Jonathan’s son Mephibosheth (II Sam 21:7). David understood covenant and how the Lord is a God of covenant. If we understood how serious it is, when we make covenants, promises, or commitments, to the Lord we would surely stand by our word. To make a covenant was to say if I break my part of the covenant let it be to me as it is to this animal of sacrifice. In Genesis 15 God Himself makes a blood covenant with Abram. Beriyth, the Hebrew word for covenant is a solemn, binding agreement made by passing through pieces of flesh. To cut covenant there must be shedding of blood. Scriptures are written in the Old and New Testaments or the Old and New Covenant. Jesus shed His blood to make a new covenant with us. Praise the Lord!
