Life is but a vapor and in a moment it can be gone. For those of us that have eternal life in Christ it is only the beginning of true life. We were given the privilege of praying and speaking to her as she passed from this life into eternity with Jesus, and knowing that it was just a temporary separation brought us all much comfort. Saying our farewells and telling her who will be waiting for her that passed on before was such a big part of healing for us all.
If you want to comfort those around you, let them know today that you love them and you love Jesus. There is no other more comforting memories than those shared when we can stand at your deathbed and know we will see you again. I want my family to rejoice at my side when that day comes, and know I will be waiting for them with excitement!
If you do not know what that means I pray you find the true and living God and His Son, Jesus Christ, that died for us and took our sin upon Himself, so that when we face death we can face it without fear. Knowing we are washed by His blood and cleansed white as snow.
1 Corinthians 15:54 So when this corruptible has put on incorruption, and this mortal has put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written: “Death is swallowed up in victory.”
55 “O Death, where is your sting?
O Hades, where is your victory?”
56 The sting of death is sin, and the strength of sin is the law. 57 But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
58 Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.
Don't let those moments of opportunity to tell those you love the words that will strengthen in times of grief.
