Have you ever felt there was a call on your life by God to do something and it just did not seem to work out? Maybe you have tried desperately to do what you felt He was asking of you and all you ever accomplished was running into brick walls. I have been there! We have all been there some time in our lives if we have been in ministry for any amount of time. The Lord places dreams inside of us and we see the big picture, but we never seem to see clearly the way to get there. Many of us rush ahead and try to make the way, and others lag behind and miss opportunities the Lord places in their paths.
I would like to encourage you today that if you are one that races ahead or lags behind it doesn't stop the call the Lord placed on your life from coming to pass. It may take you on a different route to get there, but there is still a path the Lord creates especially for you.
There are so many in scripture that must have thought their dream had died and they would never see it come to pass. Joseph dreamed of being a great ruler. He had to take a long hard road to get there. When he did arrive he must have been in awe of God and seeing the bigger picture. This entire time of God leading him to his dream it wasn't about him. The dream was to save the future nation of Israel.
There are so many that will take part in your dream, your call. We can get tunnel vision and only see our part, but there are multiple parts in this life. Every person you meet or speak to is playing a role in their dream and in yours. I'm sure you have met others you thought would help you launch your dream, but when the reality hit they were wanting you to launch their dream. They were so busy trying to make their own dream come true they did not even see yours.
Honestly the big picture is saving souls. One by one bringing others into the kingdom. How they get there is up to the Holy Spirit that woos them unto Himself. It isn't really about us anymore. Our salvation is set, so we must move on to others, and their moment in finding Jesus as their Savior. When someone comes to the Lord it is like a huge puzzle. Each piece is so important. The song they hear; the sermon that touched their heart; the word of encouragement by a testimony given they heard. Each piece draws them to Christ. Once in while we get to be that final piece. We get to see that person accept Christ and see their lives changed forever. Unless you're a well-known evangelist that draws hundreds or even thousands to their crusades you may never see a multitude come to Christ all at once. Most of those saved are one at a time that took a period of multiple encounters with many others to finally surrender.
The Lord many times makes each dream achievable for us. Step by step we climb to bigger and bigger dreams. If the Lord told you what you would be doing five years from now you may try to run there so fast you would miss all those one at a time encounters. Ministry truly is about the one in front of you. Your dreams and your call will always be about souls and eternity, it is never about you. Remember that as you go about your day. Be that one piece in the puzzle for the person in front of you.
Be a blessing today!
