As I was talking to one of my daughters recently and explaining why I had not been able to blog that day, she said, "Just blog why you couldn't." I thought , "What a good idea."Immediately the words came to my mind, "Life can change in a moment!"
Have you had an experience where everything changed in your life in one moment? The death of someone close; an illness; a car accident; loss of a job; a major move, etc....
My husband had to have surgery recently out of no where. A perfectly healthy man suddenly taking weeks off of work; medical expenses piling up. You try to plan for such events, but you cannot even begin to understand what you will go through until you go through it!
Prior to being married to my current husband, who is wonderful by the way, I was widowed after being married for over 30 years. My late husband died of complications of a motor vehicle accident. The unexpected of the accident was difficult, but the moment that came so unexpected was the Wednesday he died. He had seen the doctor that morning and after a month of complications and recovering, he was to go home from the hospital the following weekend , because of his recovery going so well. They got him up to walk that morning and by that afternoon he would pass away of a heart attack.
My life changed in a moment. My children's lives changed in a moment. There has been many events in my life and those that I love so dearly that have changed in a moment of time.
I can only say I hold on to the One that is the same yesterday, today and forever. It is well with my soul through all the times I do not understand, and these times that have changed my entire life in a moment.
Through those difficult days at times I felt like I was holding on by a thin thread, but looking back now I know HE was carrying me. Time does not heal as they say. Time separates the immediate shock and our survival mode kicks in, but Jesus is the one who truly heals.
Isaiah 53:4 Surely He has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows.....
Hebrews 13:8, Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever. Therefore by Him let us continually offer the sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of our lips, giving thanks to His name.
Without Jesus in my life I do not know how I would have made it many times. Those lost in the world and deceived by Satan's schemes look to so many other things to get them through these life changing moments. in their hurt, pain, and grief they never seem to find comfort.
I pray for those today that so need your comfort Lord. May they find You in their hour of change!
