As I am reading an article on different families fleeing their homes and be tortured for their Christian faith I have to think of the upcoming elections, and how in 1 year we can change this country either for Christ or against Him. It can happen suddenly! The United States has been a light to many around the world for our Christian heritage and the missionaries sent around the world to share Jesus with any that would hear. This next year for our country is so important that I could see us turning to this type of persecution quickly if we do not stand up for our faith.
My heart is broken for the persecution of Christians today! 70% of the world's population lives in a religiously intolerant environment. Here in the United States we live in a "freedom of religion" environment for now, but this is not a reality for so many of our Christian brothers and sisters in Christ. We are even beginning to see many of these freedoms being attacked here in the United States against us as Christians today.
Christian's 'martyr' deaths double in 2013. In Syria alone for 2013 it is reported that the Christians martyred has reached the statistics of 2012 for the entire world estimates. This is horrifying and heart wrenching!
This can happen quickly and right before our eyes if we choose to be blinded by the deceit of many in government and many in our news media.
Our elections must be based on our Christian moral beliefs.
Do we stand by silently and let this country become as those around the world that persecute Christians? Each step we make in this country to dissolving our Christian values and the value of life, is another step taken towards persecution for our faith.
I pray that you vote, and when you vote, you pray, and when you have prayed, you are led by the Holy Spirit to choose life.
We are in days like no other when our voices must be heard here and around the world to stand for Christ!
Pray! Pray! Pray!
