As we the people of Christ begin to prepare or have been long into the process it is easy to see that you can get overwhelmed quickly. The saying, How do you eat an elephant? One bite at a time," is a good example of how you may feel trying to prepare for disaster.
How can you ever save enough? Where do you get the money needed to save enough? The questions can become overwhelming alone.
In Genesis 6:14 God tells Noah to build an ark. Now we must understand what that meant. The wood would have to be cut and the boards for building made from scratch! That is a huge project in itself. There would be no heavy machinery to do this job for them. He would not be able to hire big contractors to get the job done. He must have felt overwhelmed, and I have to believe he wanted to quit many times along the way from discouragement that he might not of heard God correctly, or maybe at all.
That is how many of us are. If it does not come to pass quickly, we get discouraged and many times give up , or feel like giving up.
They estimate by the time Noah was told by God to build the ark at the age of 480 to the time the flood came at age 600, it must have took about 120 years to build the ark. That is a long time! That would be a huge part of his life. God has a plan and many times it is a long, far in the future, plan. He will plan it absolutely on time to what needs to get done.
Do not get discouraged or think it is too late to start preparing for disaster should it happen around where you live. Do what you can with what you have, but do something. God looks at the heart and provides what we need. But we have our part and we must do our part. Noah had a part to do, and God took care of the rest.
