When I was in my 20's I would go to church and see prophetic words spoken over many people. I noticed the prophetic words were very vague most of the time. I would think, "That could apply to just about every person in this room." [ I was still a baby Christian, very critical ] The other thing I noticed is how desperate people were to hear from God. So many needed a word from the Lord to reveal a direction to go, or just a word of hope to continue on.
I believe the Lord is speaking to us as His children to understand this today, and to be prepared to give words of hope and encouragement. To give prophetic words of direction and correction in love. Remember the Lord always uses correction to edify the person not tear them down. To do that we must know the times and the seasons. WE must be in tune to what God is saying in these days! Our spiritual ears need to be opened up by prayer and fasting to hear from God. People are becoming desperate and I believe the signs of the times are telling us this is only the beginning.
As I was studying in the word earlier this week I saw a word flash before me. The word was Issachar. I knew the Lord was trying to tell me something, so I began to study about the men of Issachar.
Issachar means "he will bring reward."
1 Chronicles 12:32 says, “And of the sons of Issachar, men who understood the times, with knowledge of what Israel should do, their chiefs were two hundred; and all their kinsmen were at their command."
Because of their knowledge and understanding of the times, the sons of Issachar were made keepers of the biblical calendar, and the ones who made known the appointed times and seasons when Israel should observe the feasts of the Lord.
The Hebrew word H998 for “understanding” is “bee-nah” which also means wisdom, and knowledge.
These must have been very intelligent men, who understood the signs of the times. They were involved in political affairs, because they understood that it was time to advance David to the throne. Although it was years earlier that David was anointed King by Samuel at the Lord's instruction he did not rule the complete kingdom for about 15 years. So we can see timing was important for David to take the kingdom from Saul. With this anointing of understanding the times, they knew what to do, and they moved with God to establish David’s kingdom. The Lord granted them an anointing to understand the prophetic timing when He would take the kingdom from Saul and give it to David.
1 Samuel 15:22-2822 So Samuel said:
“Has the Lord as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices,
As in obeying the voice of the Lord?
Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice,
And to heed than the fat of rams.
23 For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft,
And stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry.
Because you have rejected the word of the Lord,
He also has rejected you from being king.”
24 Then Saul said to Samuel, “I have sinned, for I have transgressed the commandment of the Lord and your words, because I feared the people and obeyed their voice. 25 Now therefore, please pardon my sin, and return with me, that I may worship the Lord.”
26 But Samuel said to Saul, “I will not return with you, for you have rejected the word of the Lord, and the Lord has rejected you from being king over Israel.”
27 And as Samuel turned around to go away, Saul seized the edge of his robe, and it tore. 28 So Samuel said to him, “The Lord has torn the kingdom of Israel from you today, and has given it to a neighbor of yours, who is better than you.
Saul would be removed from the throne because he rebelled against God. He feared the people more than he feared God, and obeyed their voice!
The Lord will bring reward to those that will humble themselves and pray, but also bless those that depend on you to hear from the Lord.
If this is your hearts desire I pray the Issachar anointing on you this day. Will you accept the call? The Lord has told me several times throughout my life, "Never take lightly the call!" I speak that to you today. Whatever your calling is never take it lightly, but do it with all your heart, and all your strength unto the Lord.
Be a blessing today in someone's life.
