On Sunday night, a bomb exploded in a public park in Pakistani killing many Christian families who had gathered to celebrate Easter. At least 72 people had been killed, and over 300 were wounded. Women and children made up the majority of the injured. Islamic Pakistani Taliban has claimed responsibility for the bombing,
A Catholic priest kidnapped by ISIS-linked terrorists in Yemen earlier this month was crucified on Good Friday, it has been claimed.
A Muslim shopkeeper in Scotland is believed to have been stabbed to death in the head by a fellow Muslim just hours after he posted a message on Facebook wishing Christians a happy Easter.
We wake to a hijacked plane this morning. Fortunately it appears to be a distraught man wanting to get a message to his ex-wife.
Times are very different today for the world and for Christians then just a decade ago. The world lives in fear and mistrust. I would like to share a word from the Lord that He has given me.
Today’s Word from the Lord: You are in a war in a battle zone. The armor of God is upon you, you must use it. Satan is out to kill you and every believer on this earth. Don’t take lightly his attacks, but understand who you are in Christ. Jesus is your Lord and set the example for you; fight with the word; speak the word; pray the word; anoint with the word. It is Calvary’s victory that gives you another day. It is Calvary’s victory that will over come all things of this earth. Move in the Spirit; walk in the Spirit; talk in the Spirit; build yourself up in Christ, the Word. Prepare, prepare, for what is ahead. Fear is not of Me, but battle is preparation and awareness of the Spirit that dwells in you, the Spirit of God. I make you strong; I give you victory; I overcame all principalities and powers. Look up your redemption draweth nigh.
My thoughts: We are in a war and we are right in the middle of the battle zone. The armor of the Lord is the only thing that will bring us victory. So many times we sing about the armor, we talk about the armor or we might even preach and teach on the armor, but we do not truly wear it. We do not put it on with the understanding of what it is. It is not a person in our mind standing with a suit of armor on, and speaking about victory. It is looking at each piece with an understanding of what it is and letting the Holy Spirit reveal Himself to you in it.
Start with the helmet of salvation, are you really saved? Is Jesus your Lord and Savior? Do you truly believe that God came to this earth as a man in the flesh, and died for your sins, so you could be completely set free from the bondage of sin, and the penalty of sin? Do you truly believe He rose on the third day and then ascended to heaven where He makes intercession for you? Do you truly believe He is returning for a bride without spot or wrinkle? Each piece of armor has such depth, and is so important for us to understand what it means. When we wear the armor of God, and understand it, and believe it, and live it, there is no devil in hell, earth or the heavens that can take you out.
Philippians 1:20 according to my earnest expectation and hope that in nothing I shall be ashamed, but with all boldness, as always, so now also Christ will be magnified in my body, whether by life or by death. 21 For to me, to live is Christ, and to die is gain. [NKJV]
Lord I pray this morning for courage and boldness. I pray you will give us the strength and ability to live for You in all things. Take fear away from us and lead us to victory in this battle. Help us to understand the armor you have given us to fight in this war and use it to be over-comers! Amen
